I met Greg Iles for the first time when he came to Joseph Beth booksellers in Lexington, Kentucky on book tour for Natchez Burning. This book is the fourth installment in the Penn Cage series and the first installment of the Natchez Burning trilogy.

Greg talked about the character Penn Cage, and the influence his father had on the development of Cage. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about history in the deep south. He shared about a serious car accident he had been in, which resulted in the loss of one of his lower legs. I had no idea he had been through that tragic experience. It was good to see him recovered and getting along well with his prosthetic leg.

It was great to meet him in the signing line as he was really easy to interact with. His Penn Cage series is amazing! I was so grateful he continued to write another three books set in Natchez with Cage.
