My Inventions (by Nikola Tesla)

Thanks to my husband, I have been interested in the life and inventions of Nikola Tesla for many years. We’ve collected several books about him over the years, watched television programs illustrating his genius inventions, and purchased some figurines to display. We are such fans of Tesla, we named our four-legged kid Nikolette.

I acquired the audiobook, My Inventions: The Autobiography of Nikola Tesla, written by Nikola Tesla at the age of 63. I later realized we also own a paperback copy of the book! The book is relatively short for an autobiography of a man who has truly lived a fascinating life and made amazing inventions that were ahead of his time. He shared about his parents and significant events in his childhood. As he humbly wrote about his inventions, he dropped interesting personal nuggets of information. His work ethic was incredible!

Considering the time period Tesla lived and wrote this autobiography, it’s incredible that it even exists. It could have been much longer and more detailed, but he had inventions to create and books to read. I get it. I just feel incredibly honored to have been able to read about his life from the man himself.

My husband and I really enjoyed a TV show about Tesla called The Tesla Files. It aired on the History Channel and has six episodes. You can watch it on YouTube or buy it. I’ve included a trailer for you to check out.

I just wanted to share that the audiobook of My Inventions was narrated by Sean Runnette, and it was well done.

As I mentioned, we have collected a few Nikola Tesla figurines. If anyone’s interested in checking them out, I’ve attached a link to the bobblehead in the picture.
