Kristina McMorris

The independent booksellers, Joseph-Beth in Lexington, Kentucky hosted the New York Times Best Selling historical fiction author, Kristina McMorris to promote her latest book, The Ways We Hide. Kristina entered the room with a huge smile and positive attitude. Her presentation was phenomenal! She came prepared with a slide show containing images that inspired her idea for the book. She showed us pictures of the real life characters in her book. Kristina impressed us by sharing dramatic historical events. She fascinated us with images and videos of how POWs concealed contraband to aid in their escape. She displayed a map printed on a piece of silk and told us how POWs could conceal that map in clothing and the benefits of its durability. Kristina not only put forth a lot of effort to make her event entertaining and memorable, she put a ton of effort into writing this book!! I was blown away by how many people assisted her with accurate details and how much research and reading she did to ensure her book is perfect. I learned so much from her and could have hung out with her for hours! I also grabbed a copy of Bridge of Scarlet Leaves and Kristina graciously signed it for me.
