The Intruder (by Freida McFadden)
I’m a big fan of author events and collecting signed books. Since Freida McFadden is a busy person, juggling her roles as a doctor, writer, and mom, she doesn’t often host author events. As a result, purchasing a signed copy of one of her books has been a challenge for me. But that all changed recently!
I subscribe to The Poisoned Pen newsletter, and I was thrilled to learn that they had a few signed copies of Freida’s new book, The Intruder. I couldn’t resist the opportunity and quickly placed my order.
To my delight, the book arrived as a limited signed edition, bound by the publisher. When I checked the publisher’s information, I discovered that it was Poisoned Pen Press, founded in 1997 by the owners of The Poisoned Pen Bookstore. Interestingly, the press was acquired by Sourcebooks in 2018, but Barbara Peters, the owner of the bookstore, continues to serve as the editor-in-chief. I found this information quite fascinating, especially since I don’t usually pay much attention to a book’s publisher. It was exciting to learn that Poisoned Pen Press publishes Freida’s books.
The book itself is absolutely stunning! I love the sprayed edges with the intriguing teaser phrase. The cover art is visually appealing, the signature page is well-crafted, and Freida’s signature is simply amazing. This book is a beautiful and cherished addition to my collection.
