As Long As We Both Shall Live (by JoAnn Chaney)

I’m trying to be better at bailing on books I’m not that crazy about or are ‘just okay.’ It’s not my intention to be critical or discourage anyone else from reading a particular book. There’s just so many adventures at my disposal, and I want to read books that I really like or fall in love with.

I borrowed As Long As We Both Shall Live by JoAnn Chaney from my local library with the Hoopla app, excited to read a thriller/murder mystery. The story started out well with two timelines. One set in 1995 where a husband appears to have murdered his wife. In 2018, another wife was probably murdered by her husband. I liked this storyline and was intrigued how this was going to unfold.

As the investigations began, the detectives investigating these women’s suspicious deaths begin to take turns rotating into the alternating storylines. And this is where the book started to get confusing for me. Another suspicious death was introduced to the story and I decided I wasn’t liking the book as much as I wanted. I had listened to more than 25% of the audiobook and decided it was time for me to move on. Narration by Christina Delaine was good.

Back into the Hoopla app to search for another suspenseful murder mystery.
