Sunflower Fields in Georgetown, Ky

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful evening wondering among the millions of gorgeous sunflowers. Evans Orchard and Cider Mill in Georgetown, Kentucky offers a huge field of sunflowers and large fields of zinnias annually. We arrived to Evans Orchard a little after 7:00 pm to take advantage of their rare evening hours to capture some good pictures.

The journey begins with buying tickets at the store. ($10 per person) They offer fresh produce and adorable gifts for the house. Outside, past the cafe where you can buy food and drinks, to the waiting area to hop on the wagon for a ride to the fields. Evans Orchard also has a play area and barnyard that’s included with your ticket. The wagon ride takes us past the endless rows of the apple orchard.

We are dropped off at the sunflower and zinnia fields. Excitement immediately takes over at the size and number of bright yellow sunflowers. The sunflower fields are so deep and long. We casually made our way to the furthest end of the field and gradually made our way back to the opposite end.

We loved the peace and tranquility of walking among the variety of sunflowers. Some sunflowers were just blooming, some are nearing the end of their life, and some were in peak bloom. Sunflowers are my favorite flower, so this is always a very special visit.

Before departing the fields, we admired the zinnia fields, which contained so many bright, vibrant colors.

Back on the wagon for our return to the store. We stopped at the cafe for refreshing apple cider slushies, which cooled us off and completed our evening.
