Kentucky Book Fair 2017

My first book fair…

The annual Kentucky Book Fair in 2017 was held at the Kentucky Horse Park inside the Alltech Arena. This was my first year attending and it was the most amazing experience ever!! So many book and authors in one place…I was in a constant state of awe. I am a self-described introvert so I was pretty shy and didn’t engage in conversations with the authors. I was grateful for the opportunity to briefly meet them and have my books personalized and signed. That’s all it takes to make this woman happy.

My day was packed with several authors I wanted to meet and purchase their books. I had studied the program for weeks before the book fair so I knew exactly which authors I wanted to meet.

I was excited to meet David Joy as I loved his debut novel, Where All Light Tends to Go. I was looking forward to getting a signed copy of his second book, The Weight of this World.

Through my social media resources, it seemed as though Jessica Strawser’s book, Almost Missed You, was getting great reviews so I definitely wanted to snag her book.

David Bell is a popular author and I love mystery, suspense novels so I was eager to pick up his latest book, Bring Her Home.

Listen to Me by Hannah Pittard was also flooding my Litsy feed with good reviews so I wasn’t leave the book fair without that book.

I love lighthouses so I was looking forward to Tiffany Reisz’s, The Night Mark, and Cynthia Ellingsen’s, The Lighthouse Keeper.

Last and certainly not least, I had the pleasure of meeting Ann Gabhart. She introduced me to her cozy mystery series, Hidden Springs, that begins with Murder at the Courthouse.
