More Bedtime Stories for Cynics (Narrated by Nick Offerman)

A few years ago, Audible offered a monthly selection of free short audiobooks. Since the offer was included in my membership, I tried to make the best picks of the audiobooks available. As a fan of Nick Offerman’s comedic personality, this was an easy pick.

More Bedtime Stories for Cynics includes 12 short stories based on classic children’s stories such as Hanzel and Gretel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and The Prince and the Frog. These short stories are definitely for adults only! The authors are Kristen Kearse, Gretchen Enders, Apart Nancherla, Cirocco Dunlap, and Dave Hill. Listening to each story is like listening to a live performance. Audible does a great job with music and sound effects. The case of narrators is quite impressive: Jane Lynch, Anjelica Huston, and Rachel Dratch, to name some of my favorites.

Some of the stories were hilarious and made me LOL. One story was particularly sad. Overall, I was entertained with this audiobook.

BTW, the picture of my tulips preparing to bloom without the audiobook inspired the picture with the tulips and audiobook. If you look closely, Nikolette makes an appearance in the background of the picture without the audiobook. There is a bunny nest in the daffodils. Nikolette is OBSESSED with visiting her friends. My husband put a fence around the area to keep Nikolette’s visit at a distance.
