Night School - Jack Reacher #21 (by Lee Child)

I’m a fan of the Jack Reacher series and have been reading the books in order for the past few years. Night School takes us back to 1996 when Reacher was still an MP in the US Army. After receiving a medal, he is immediately sent off to night school where he meets an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. They soon figure out they are not attending a school, but instead being sent on a special mission in Hamburg, Germany. They learn there’s an American who wants one hundred million dollars. Their job is to find the American and why does he want all of that money? All government officials involved are highly concerned about terrorism. Once the story heats up, it really heats up. In true Reacher fashion, there is suspense, a few intimidating encounters with some shady characters, and a new love interest. It took me awhile to get into this story and grasp all of the government and foreign roles. Once the story started to fall into place and the characters understood their roles, I really began to enjoy it. The ending was quite satisfying as Reacher explored a moral dilemma and made a decision he knew he could live with.
