Poppy’s Story (by Kristina McMorris)

This book cover is amazing! If I ever thought to compile a list of books based on the covers I like best, Poppy’s Story would definitely be at the top of my list!! (Well, look at that. I just gave myself an idea for my blog. haha) Poppy’s Story by Kristina McMorris, which is part of the Good Intentions collection, is available through Amazon. I listened to the audiobook for free through my Amazon Prime membership.

I love how Kristina creates her stories! For Poppy’s Story, she took a child character that appeared briefly in her novel, The Ways We Hide, and checked-in with her as an adult. Poppy Turner is married, expecting her first child, and is an elementary teacher in 1962. It’s a tumultuous time for the United States as there are regular air-raid drills. Poppy is filled with fear and uncertainty about her present and future, which is partially stemmed from her childhood. Once again, Kristina has written a beautiful story with a main character many people can relate.
