The Christmas Tree Farm (by Laurie Gilmore)

I’m thrilled that I’ve completed my library holds, allowing me to dive back into the enchanting world of Christmas-themed books before the holiday season fades away. After a few beautiful snowfalls, we’re experiencing warmer weather, and it has diminished the festive atmosphere in our home. However, I managed to rekindle the holiday spirit with Laurie Gilmore’s novel, The Christmas Tree Farm.

The story follows Kira North, a woman who despises Christmas. Driven by a desire for independence, she impulsively purchases a dilapidated Christmas tree farm in the charming small town of Dream Harbor. When a cheerful visitor named Bennett Ellis, visiting his sister, gets stranded at her farm due to a massive snowstorm, their contrasting personalities ignite a spark amidst twinkling lights, hot chocolate, and forced proximity. As they navigate their interactions, they uncover a touch of local mystery.

As I’m only recently embarking on the Dream Harbor series, I’m delighted to have read the third installment. I had a strong desire to read this book this year. I really didn’t want to wait another year to read it.

I enjoyed the story, the main characters, and the festive setting of a Christmas tree farm. The narrative maintained a good balance of suspense through the appropriate amount of conflict. I appreciate how the characters’ experiences were mostly handled maturely, showcasing their personal growth. Additionally, I was delighted to encounter familiar faces from the previous two books.

Since we won’t be experiencing snow on Christmas, it was refreshing to read a story centered around a winter storm that trapped the characters indoors. I borrowed The Christmas Tree Farm from my local library using Hoopla. Once again, Regina Reagan provided a delightful narration, bringing the story to life.
