The Intern (by Gregg Hurwitz)

I’m still relatively new to the Orphan X series by Gregg Hurwitz, but the journey is thrilling. I’m thoroughly enjoying the short stories that accompany each installment. The Intern is the third and a half in the series. Despite its short duration of less than 30 minutes, it’s incredibly intense!

The story follows a summer intern at a sleazy tabloid news site who reluctantly follows her pushy reporter colleague into a perilous crime scene. This scene is connected to rumors of a mysterious vigilante figure known as the Nowhere Man. What starts as a routine stakeout quickly spirals into a high-stakes ordeal, drawing on the skills of a secretive operative with a shadowy past.

The short tale delivers suspense and pulse-pounding tension that I’ve come to expect from Orphan X. This has me eagerly anticipating the next full-length novel in the series. I purchased The Intern through my Audible membership. Scott Brick is the perfect narrator for The Nowhere Man.

You can find my reviews for other books in the Orphan X series and standalone novels I’ve read so far below.
