Greg Iles

Joseph-Beth booksellers in Lexington, Kentucky hosted a second author event with Greg Iles to promote the much awaited release of Mississippi Blood. This book is the final installment in the Penn Cage series and the third installment of the Natchez Burning trilogy.

Greg talked about the history of Natchez and its influence on the conclusion of this story line. He’s such a great historian and very knowledgeable. He entertained questions from the audience. I had taken my copy of The Devil’s Punchbowl for him to also sign. Coincidentally, I remember him relaying he is often asked how he could write about dog fighting in that book. Sadly, he said he wasn’t much of a dog person so it didn’t affect him the way it does his readers who are avid dog lovers. Even though there is graphic, turn my stomach animal violence in the novel, I loved it anyway.

While signing my book, Greg accidentally tore the page so he inscribed, “Greg did that.” with an arrow pointing to the small tear. It was great to meet Greg a second time and I couldn’t wait to devour Mississippi Blood.
